Rugby Legacy Fund — Stills & Video

The Honda Rugby Legacy Fund is a long-term partnership between Honda and The Telegraph, launched in 2022 to support the growth of girls’ and women’s rugby across the UK. Through funding, storytelling and community engagement, the initiative celebrates the people helping to grow the game at every level, from grassroots clubs to some of rugby's most influential figures.

Over the course of the partnership, the campaign has featured a range of inspiring voices from across the sport, including England's most-capped players Ben Youngs and Sarah Hunter, women's rugby pioneer Deborah Griffin, England captains Zoe Aldcroft and Maro Itoje, and former international referee Nigel Owens. Through a combination of written features, photography and video content, the project explored how rugby has shaped lives, built communities and inspired future generations.

In 2025, The Telegraph and Honda relaunched the Rugby Legacy Fund, awarding grants to 15 girls' and women's rugby clubs across the UK. To celebrate the winning clubs, a dedicated event was held at Harlow Rugby Club, bringing together players, coaches and volunteers for a day of recognition, storytelling and rugby.

As Production Lead, I oversaw the planning and delivery of photography and video content throughout the partnership, collaborating closely with editorial, commercial and creative teams to bring the campaign to life across multiple formats. For the winners' event, I led production across both stills and video, creating a suite of assets designed to showcase the impact of the fund and highlight the individuals helping to grow the women's game.

The content included event coverage, portrait photography, social-first video assets and interviews, alongside coverage of a training session led by England rugby legend Maggie Alphonsi. The resulting campaign content celebrated the achievements of the winning clubs while reinforcing Honda's ongoing commitment to supporting the future of rugby.
